Since WebSync v6.1 and SimSync PRO 8 it is possible to protect the series content by requiring a valid Steamid from the user (instead of a password).
Attention!
Please note that when using this function there is a requirement to update the SimSync PRO Client to a minimal version (currently SimSync PRO 8)! All lower versions will be rejected, no matter if you want to synchronize this particular series or not!
First create a list of SteamID’s (of type SteamID64) and enter the data into the field in the serial configuration (one SteamID per line).
Use the buttons on the left to sort and count the SteamID’s and to check if the ID’s are valid. There is also a link to the following Youtube video explaining how to get the Steamid.
Once you have saved and indexed the series, your content is protected and the user must enter their Steam account name and profile name to “authenticate” themselves to the SimSync PRO client. However, this is only possible if the user is logged into the Steam client with the same account as the SimSync PRO client.
Once he/she has entered valid Steam information, he/she will be asked if the Steam data should be stored so that this data can be used the next time to synchronize a series that requires a Steamid.
If the Steamid is not found in the list defined in the series, the Sync will refuse to synchronize the series, otherwise the synchronization process will start.

Seit WebSync v6.1 und SimSync PRO 8 ist es möglich, den Serieninhalt zu schützen, indem eine gültige Steamid vom Benutzer verlangt wird (anstelle eines Passworts).
Achtung!
Beachten Sie, dass bei Verwendung dieser Funktion die Anforderung besteht, den SimSync PRO Client auf eine Minimal Version (derzeit SimSync PRO 8) zu aktualisieren! Alle niedrigeren Versionen werden abgelehnt, unabhängig davon ob sie diese bestimmte Serie synchronisieren wollen oder nicht!

Sobald er/sie gültige Steam Informationen eingegeben hat, wird er/sie gefragt, ob die Steam Daten gespeichert werden sollen, damit diese Daten beim nächstem Mal verwendet werden, um eine Serie zu synchronisieren, die eine Steamid erfordert.
Wenn die Steamid nicht in der Liste gefunden wird, die in der Serie definiert ist, weigert sich der Sync, die Serie zu synchronisieren, andernfalls wird der Synchronisationsprozess gestartet.
